Blockbuster UK launches a new iPhone App with built in Click & Collect

Blockbuster UK, the UK’s biggest movie rental chain has launched a free new app for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch giving movie and games fans access to over 70,000 movies and games available to rent or buy at blockbuster.co.uk and in Blockbuster Stores.
The app itself caters for both Blockbuster Store and Blockbuster Online customers, giving online customers the ability to update and maintain their rental lists at blockbuster.co.uk, while at the same time giving Blockbuster Store customers the ability to Click & Collect in their local Blockbuster store on the go.

Online subscribers can connect to their online rental list (online rental customers only) – where they can add, adjust and remove titles from their list on the go.
Access over 70,000 titles on DVD, Blu-ray, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and more. Includes EXCLUSIVE titles that are only available to rent at Blockbuster.

The ability to link up an iPhone or iPod Touch with blockbuster.co.uk to access Blockbuster Rewards(R) vouchers to use in Blockbuster stores.

In addition to being able to reserve titles to rent online, the new Blockbuster app also displays availability and pricing for new and preowned movies stocked at blockbuster.co.uk and the Blockbuster Marketplace. Users of the app who may wish to order titles only stocked online can do so without a debit or credit card by special ordering in-store – giving them access to online prices on the High Street.

Blockbuster remains the only online rental service in the UK that has access to titles from Universal Pictures. Recent Universal titles have included ‘Paul’, ‘Despicable Me’ and ‘The Adjustment Bureau’.
