Moving Images is a film club based in Panaji, Goa (India).

Objectives of Moving Images

• To bring Cinema from different regions and nations to an increasingly appreciative audience and to focus on films not normally available in the commercial circuit, experimental, documentary and art house cinema.

• Centring on the visual medium to contribute towards a multi-language cultural forum for discussion and exchange.

• To help those who choose make the transition from passive consumers to active producers in the visual domain through the use of digital and interactive media.

• Activities:

  For Members only:

  • Regular Screenings followed by discussion (generally every fortnight)

  For Members and others:
  (Members receive preferential admission and/or rebates for some of these activities)

  • Film festivals on special themes focusing on regions, directors, retrospectives, genres of cinema.

  • Promoting and making documentaries as a special mode of experience and learning.

  • Lectures, Workshops, Discussions and Training Programs on film appreciation and writing, aspects of cinematography from scripting to post production, and other aspects of the visual and audio medium with emphasis on user friendly and cheap digital media.

  • Through formation of film clubs in schools and colleges to stimulate interest in aesthetic and educational cinema with a concern towards understanding other cultures and other times.

  • To develop documentation and education material on cinema and related media both in real and virtual space.
